Sargeant James Pippin, a longtime friend of the Karate 5 organization, has been serving in Iraq since 2004. He became associated with the organization in the middle 70's by playing percussion instruments when the Karate 5 group gave demonstrations at local Colleges and Universities as well as when we performed on TV. He was always active in community activities and we wish him Godspeed as he defends our country. Hopefully, he will be back with us soon!

I have been busy fighting the enemy and can not correspond like I use to. Recently I witnessed an Iraqi Martial Arts camp. Man! They really go at it. This instructor, must have been a tenth degree, lined about 50 soldiers up and went down the line with wooden poles and hit each student as hard as he could across the arms, shoulders, thighs, stomach, and chest. He then had each student lay down with a slab of concrete on their stomachs and he would take a sledge hammer and break the concrete. After all of that he would make each one eat a live white rabbit. This was to see if they could get into the class. Wow! I can't send to much information on what I am doing. The site looks great. Pip CSM James T.
