Jason Guillion, a Godan in the art of Shotokan, from Chilhowie, Virginia, joined the ICA and participated in the latest crosstraining seminar. Jason is a longtime friend of Karate 5 Association of Tennessee and stated that he would be back for the next ICA seminar in May, in addition to supporting the Karate 5 Arnis Event in April. It's ironic that some will drive a few hundred miles to train and others won't drive less than 1 hour to participate. |
Master Dennis Thomas was promoted to Shichidan prior to the seminar entering the "hands on" phase. Master Thomas had some heartfelt remarks to make about the value of the ICA and how his personal training had been elevated as a result of his being actively involved in the ICA. |
Master Melbert Lee, Sr. was promoted to Kudan in January-2009 and the Karate 5 Association was afforded the opportunity to announce it to the world at the February-2009 ICA event. Only a very small percentage of martial artists are able to reach that plateau and we take our collective hats off to Grandmaster Lee. |
Master William Mason, a Shichidan with the Karate 5 Association was inducted into the Elite "Dragons Forever" Circle. Now, all of the Masters in Karate 5, are proud "Tab" holders. |
